Frequently Asked Questions.

How Do I Choose The Right Therapist?

Choosing the right therapist can feel like a big decision, and rightfully so! Therapy is an intimate experience where you may disclose sacred parts of you. As you’re looking for a therapist, it may be helpful to ask yourself questions such as, “Does this person have experience in the particular area I’m looking to explore?”, and “Do I feel as though I align with their message and approach to mental health and wellness?” Also, know that you do not have to stick with your therapist. I value feedback, so I can work collaboratively with my clients. If something isn’t working for you, my intention is that you feel empowered to share that with me. Ultimately, your safety is paramount, and I’ll support you regardless of who you ultimately end up working with.

So What Exactly Is Sex Therapy?

Sex therapy is intended to demystify and destigmatize sex and sexuality. Topics that we might explore include but are not limited to:

  • Difficulty achieving or maintaining arousal or orgasm

  • Pain or guilt around or during sex

  • Curiosity around exploring different positions, toys, or people.

  • Struggles with sexuality or gender identity

  • Sex worker or performer

  • Shame and isolation

How Much Does Therapy Cost? Do you Take Insurance?

I believe in doing what I can for mental health to be both accessible and sustainable. My session rate is $250, and I do provide sliding scale services based on the particular need of the client and available slots. I also provide an initial mini-session for $100 if you’d like to get a feel for my style and if we’d be a good fit. I also am an out of network provider with most PPO insurance providers. That means that you will be responsible for the fee of the session upfront, and I can typically provide you with a superbill at the end of each month, and your insurance provider may reimburse you at their discretion.

If you have any questions about rate or insurance, just reach out! I’m happy to chat with you!

First Time?

Sessions are typically 50-minutes for individuals. I start working with individual clients once a week and then titrate down to bi-weekly and monthly sessions. I’m flexible around the frequency of sessions, so just ask! For couples and relationships, I start with 50-minute sessions, and can go up to 90-minute sessions if we need more time.
